The Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibit at Nathan Phillips Square is just around the corner. Right now I'm working on a whole new collection of doors and teeny tiny landscapes.... I've been doing so much large work lately that its nice to change it up and work on wee little stuff for a bit. The studio is proving to be a great space, now that its organized and everything has its place, it feels so great to get in there and work. I should have about 60 new little pieces for the TOAE, so be sure to stop by!! I"ll be posting my booth number shortly... see you soon!
Another show done for the year..... The Riverdale Art Walk was a great show to kick off the outdoor show season, we fought the cold, withstood the rain and treacherous winds and packed up Sunday evening with less artwork and more ideas. I am also honoured come home with an award! Best in Category Award!! Thank you to everyone who came out to support the show, myself and all the other artists. The Artists' Network put on a great event and I look forward to it again in 2013.
My new work will be on my website later this week so stay tuned if you didn't make it out to see it in person. It is all spring inspired with soft colours and dreamy sunset light. Back lit blossoming trees against orange skies and bright yellow leaves casting low shadows on walls... this spring has been filled with gorgeous light and colour.
Sitting under my tent in the rain yesterday, I had a great idea for my next body of work and can't wait to get started... For now though, I'll be unpacking and re-organizing in the wake of RAW. I'll be in the studio this weekend working on some new images so if you haven't had the chance to check out the space, come by on Friday or Saturday!
